I use PIA at home and on my phone. I've used it for the last few years and it's great. You can usually find discount codes for it upon renewal time. You can pick your country, or even stay in the states and use something like VA for FL for routing traffic. I can't recall the device limit or if there is one. Before I made my choice a few years ago, PIA when tested had the fastest throughput of the 3 or 4 I tested.

Troypoint.com a site for streaming and associated help recommended Surfshark and I subscribed to that VPN. Periodically he offers a substantial discount on VPN.

I build for VPNs for work, but don't bother with one. You're building an encrypted tunnel to the vpn provider's datacenter and sending traffic there first, at which point the vpn encryption is removed (but is still encrypted by TLS or DTLS negotiated between your device and the web server) and it egresses to the internet at large. Not to say there's never any benefit to that, but for just browsing the internet from home, I don't think there's a lot of value.

I use VPN always on my computer. dont know if it helps or not, that said i have never had issues. but I dont do crazy stuff and am pretty protective. Perhaps I would not need but thinking it cant hurt. dunno
