If you really want to confuse them, give them a dollar coin or a two dollar bill.
I don't do the following at big chain stores.
But in small businesses where I know the employees / owners, I will sometimes make comments about U.S. history.
Pay with a $20 and say "Here's the old Indian fighter."
Pay with a $10 and say "Here's the lousy shot."
Somebody told me one time they didn't mind those pictures of dead presidents but they preferred a picture of a dead Postmaster General.

I have a couple of libtard friends I debate with from time to time

I propose to them that voting rights should be for homeowners and landowners. No ownership, no vote

Another idea was the prospect if we have to give everybody a vote, then we should give people in higher tax brackets multiple votes. If you don’t do anything but be a leech off of society you still get one vote,
People on the next tier (schoolteacher level wages and subsequent tax contributions) get 2
The guy in your community that owns seven Burger King franchises gets three
And up to a max of 4 for the Elon Musk and Donald Trump level contributors who conversely are the smallest fraction of the populace anyway
Well, there is that Constitution thing, and the prohibition of setting up different levels of citizens. That was pretty much the reason for the break from England.

who literally did not know the difference between a nickel and a dime. I told her and showed her that she gave me a quarter and two nickels but it should be a quarter and two dimes. She had a puzzled look so I held up one of the nickels and said, "this is a nickel". She asked, "that's a nickel?" And off she went for some help. I probably would have let it go at that point - just 10 cents - but for some reason, I guess I felt sorry for her and I like the business. It didn't ruin my day or anything but it was surprising. Math errors when making change don't seem uncommon these days but this was a first for the cashier not knowing the denominations.
You would not have had this problem I you used Apple Pay.

I tried to pay my bill at a restaurant at lunch a few years ago. The total was just under $11.00. I did not have a ten dollar bill so handed the young kid a twenty and a one.
Blew his mind - said I gave him too much. I responded that I knew, but was hoping he could give me a ten dollar bill back. He said he could not do that. I ceased to argue and put the one dollar bill back in my pocket and accepted the change from the twenty.

Wanna know why 'Merica is in decline? These "kids" are growing up ....... and then they vote. Stupid people should not be allowed to do some things. Driving is one. Voting is another.
The two or three "smart" liberals alive have figured out what socialists countries figured out. They're beginning to push "mandatory" voting for each and EVERY citizen (non-citizens too I'm sure) at that point our country is completely finished. The morons in this country VASTLY outnumber those with common sense. If you think it's bad now just wait until all those who need a picture of a burger on the cash register screen because they can't read the actual word begin electing our leaders. Watch "Idiocracy" on YouTube for free if you haven't seen it. Were not far from it now.

I had a young man at sonic (I wanted ice cream desperately, it was a huge let down but thats besides the point) and he told me it cost lets say $5.61. I gave him I think a $10 dollar bill. He asks me “how much was that?” Regarding the receipt that he just handed me… so I answered him “$5.61”. I told him he could keep the change and he then looked scared, scrambled in a bag, and tried to hand me a random wad of cash… it was definitely beyond $4.39. Young people when I was graduating 10 years ago seemed silly, but NOW that im super old… the younger people seem super duper silly. Fun times
