Always..... Get in writing!!!! Too bad people do not value their word anymore.

She might not have "needed" the money if she would have had to sign a agreement.

Okay so i know there is some lawyers and people in the legal field here. Let me explain why i want legal advice.

Back in May and June I loaned a lady friend money to make two car payments and then some weeks later i paid her phone bill. These three things totaled $400. She said she'd pay me back but i havent seen one cent of the money yet. I have dates and amounts that i gave her and i know the money went to tmobile and a car dealership in pryor..........as far as I know. Now i've been asking her if she can pay me back and she keeps giving me the runaround. Legally what can I do to recoup my money if she doesnt pay me? I dont want to get too harrassing or anything, I just want my money and she can go on her merry way

Dude! i didnt know you were datin my sister in law

I have to say I can relate to your problem. I guess I have always been easy, tell me a sob story and I'm on your side. I have given a loans (or a large gift) like that several times, and I always get burned. I have outstanding amounts from $100 to $9800. Let's just say I don't loan out money anymore, unless they have some good collateral. I own a trailer dealership and a truck accessory shop and I always get people wanting me to finance them a trailer or a full replacement bumper. If I do #1 the title stays with me or #2 they can pick up the truck accessory when it's paid for. When I take something for collateral I'll take just about anything as long as it's worth something. Guns, cars, your wife.lol. I have learned my lesson and it aint gonna happen unless my terms are met. Just thought I would share my experience with all of you.

Been there done that.

One more word of advice, don't ever sell a car on payments. It sucks running down deadbeats for your money. And I did it twice. I was a slow learner. Do NOT ever sell a vehicle on payments.

I can't imagine why you would loan her cash money but since you did and she seems to be unwilling to return the cash maybe she has other assets she'd be willing to trade in lieu of cash...

the only thing she has that i would take is she has a ruger SR9C.......supposedly. I could just take that and sell it. Wow 3 pages i dont have many threads that go that far.
