I need help from the military guys.

We received a letter today, from our nephew who is a Marine currently deployed in Afghanistan. He asked us to send several things including brown boot socks. I am hoping that one of you guys can tell me exactly what kind of socks he is needing. Are they the kind of boot socks that you would get at Drysdales for cowboy boots that come up to just under the knee? Or is he needing something that will just clear his combat boots? Any help will be appreciated, I want to get this care package sent out this week.

my guess would be the ones that go to just below the knee typically. Of course I am sure any would do and work for him.

He's probably needing combat boot socks....safest bet is USMC issued coyote brown socks if you can find them. There are lots of great brands/styles, but without knowing his boot fitting you might send him something too thick or too thin.

I Unfortunately do not have anything to contribute about where to purchase. Just would like to give a big hats off to you sir. I have a lot of respect for any branch of the armed services and would be more than happy to do things like this if I wasnt a broke college kid. Props to you for supporting.

There is an Army surplus store on Memorial between 41st and the BA expressway. Might want to try there. Academy Sports is right there also. Just some ideas.....Bass Pro in Broken Arrow might be another place to try.
