@slas how about those trees?
You have pictures of them?
Can they be cut where they stand and fall to the ground without hitting anything?
Or is climbing and limbing in order?

How big around and are roots above the ground and do those need ground or removed?
Trees are dead and only the trunk left, easy cut down. I have a new chainsaw and have been meaning to just do it but each weekend is filled with honey do’s along with my stuff and I always feel like I’m playing catch up. I guess that’s what also makes it harder to pay someone $50-75 an hour when I know exactly what it’ll take to do the job, I just need more “weekend” to get it all done.

I used to work in this industry. We called this type of work Rat Jobs because that was the only ones taking that kind of work.

Others have already mentioned the investment skilled craftsmen have made and the fact they prefer something a little more steady on the income so they stick with bigger jobs.

I wish you luck.

I’ll most likely end up doing it myself at some point. I’m just glad I’m still healthy enough to do most of it. Like I said, it’s not the work for me, it’s finding the time to do it. Usually after I do it I think, “I can’t believe they charge $ for that”.

Exactly my game plan.
Spent last weekend and Monday evening cutting up downed trees and limbs. Damn near killed this old fat man. 😂🤣😆

If you only pay peanuts, all you’re gonna get is monkeys. Ana other Ed flag is just what others have mentioned. If they can start right away, it’s probably because they are a butcher.

People that show up AND know what they are doing are rare and hard to find. When you find one, treat them like the gem that they are.

A friend of mine moved to a small town in Wyoming. When he would mention to people he was thinking of hiring a certain tradesman, neighbors would never bad mouth his choice. They would instead say we like so and so more. This way it could never be said they bad mouthed the one guy.
