My Iphone 4 wants to update to Ios 6 .
I've heard a few bad things about it, mostly crappy maps.

iOS 6 causing big battery drain for iPhone 4 and 4S users:
Apples (AAPL) iOS 6 cant seem to catch a break lately. Between the Maps app fiasco, limited Passbook usage and redesigned App Store that makes discovering apps even more difficult, iOS 6 seems like an update worth skipping for iPhone 4 and 4S users. According to reports from MacObserver and hundreds of messages on the official Apple discussion boards, iPhone 4 and 4S users who updated to iOS 6 are seeing their batteries drop from 100% fully charged to under 50% in a handful of hours on standby.
Some users have suggested the Maps and Passbook app are the culprits and that turning off location services provides a temporary fix. Its not uncommon for battery issues to pop up when a new iOS update is released. When iOS 5 was released last year, iPhone users who updated from iOS 4 also suffered excessive battery loss. BGR reviewed iOS 6 on an iPhone 4 and didnt notice any substantial drops in battery usage.

Upgrading your iOS is one of the ways Apple gets you to upgrade your hardware. It will run slow, burn down the battery and it has a lot of bugs.
I did the upgrade on my iPad. The map app is not as good as google but other than that I don't have any problems.
My battery actually lasts longer with IOS6 but that's not saying much. I regret updating since I travel and use the GPS. I can't tell a difference other than that. I keep wondering what the iPhone 5 battery life is like compared to the 4S.
