Where the hell did you get Yuengling? Last I checked they did not ship west of the Mississippi, and that's only been over the last 183 years. That's one of my favorite beers and I only get it when I am on the east coast.

Don't know where he got his. It's available in Memphis, and rumint has it they may start a brewery there.

:-) One of the best songs ever written.

I have several hundred 'best songs ever written', but this is most assuredly one of them. And Guy Clark is one of the best songwriters to ever walk the earth. But this guy

...Billy Joe Shaver

is better. I want to see Guy so badly before he croaks. I've seen BJS, luckily.

I can't argue too much with that. I've seen Guy and he was just incredible in person. Conversely, I've never seen BJS and really need to while he's still topside as well.

On that note... howza bout a liil Black Rose on vintage ACL!

BJS gets infinity roadhouse points for famously asking a dude he was fighting outside a honky tonk "where do you want it" before he shot him...

Been to Austin a few times,(from 6th street to Lake Travis?? can't remember) just never did buy into the "Austin is Nirvana" thing. Most of the young folks I worked with in Galveston and Houston that were 30 and under had the attitude that they HAD to move to Austin....Austin IS heaven on earth.....Austin is evey true Texan's Mecca.

Just never got it.

This thread really has nothing to do with Austin other than the music and getting drunk there... :)

And the problem is...? Seriously, I luv me sum Shaver. Haven't heard any Freddie Eaglesmith in a while and I missed Max Stalling the other night. Dammit! Austin is okay. I prefer San Antone. Carrizo Springs. Hell, I think I prefer Abilene. The Taco House in El Indio. Blah, blah, blah...
