If NY style national hi cap ban happens, how will it affect NFA items?

Couldnt agree more. The ones I know that live there seem to think that the world revolves around what is happening in New York and everyone else will just follow because they are the ones that make things cool or they think that there is no world outside of New York.
I have to say its without a doubt one of the coolest places ive ever visited everything is even cooler in person then it is on TV. After about 3 days of being there im ready to GTFO lol

Exactly. The ones I have known (quite a few were good friends) are very ego-centric when it comes to NYC. They left only to go to school and had no intentions of ever going anywhere else but back to NYC. I know they didn't all end up there, some due to job issues... but their intentions were never anything but. And the statements they made about places around the country just shocked me. Like talking about how Oklahomans often didn't have running water, outhouses, etc. And they were SERIOUS. They really, really believed that was the conditions in anyplace outside a major metro in the South or Midwest. lol

Shocking, really, the extent of the ignorance.

But that's ok.... :D They can keep that place. :D The only thing they've got that I care about is Broadway, and I can get my fill in a couple of days.

There is a lot more to NY than NYC. Up state NY is actually very nice. I don't feel sorry for them though. I was born in OK and spent most of my non-military life here, but if they ever pull all that crap I'm outta here.

The crime rate in NYC won't increase at all. They've got cops everywhere. You'd just have to go there and see it firsthand to understand it.

Man that's a mis-informed statement. I've been and yes there are cops all over the place. How their crime rate is what it is escapes me.

The crime rate will get worse, I'd bet a case of beer on it. The reason it will is even though there are cops everywhere there is still crime. After this passes there will be the same amount of cops, with less armed citizens.

I agree... from what I've heard/read, most of NY that is non-NYC is not too different from alot of the rest of the country. But NYC has what now... 12 or 15 million people? Kinda hard to offset that many closed-minded people with no grasp on life outside their metro bubble at the voting booths. :(

Same phenomenon in Illinois and Michigan.

<edit> I looked it up and NYC is listed at 8.1M... but if you include the 'burbs, I'd bet you're significantly higher. The whole metro area has to be 12-15M.
