So, which would it be...?
If you could only have ONE handgun what would it be and why? For me, I would pick the S&W 627PC. Here's why:

1.) .357 - best self-defense caliber.
2.) It's a revolver - less maintenance and chance for FTF, FTE, FTL.
3.) 'Cheap' to practice with .38
4.) You can hunt up to deer with it loaded "hot"
5.) Carries 8 rounds and with moon clips it reloads fast.
6.) Concealable.
7.) Performance center accuracy and workmanship.
8.) Can't think of anything else better...

That would depend.

1) If I lived and spent most of my time in the country, it'd be a 4'' SS Ruger .357, durable, depndable and accurate enough.

2) If I lived or spent most of my time in the city, it would be a Glock 19. 15 round capacity, durable, light, reliable, easily concealable, and parts availability.

Both offer plenty of power for SD, and cheap practice ammo.
