I'd look at Kimbers. I've never had one, but most folks that have em, love em.

I have an STI Trojan and it runs like a sewing machine. Any ammo from semi wad cutters to hps. I don't think it has ever jammed on me. From my experience though, I'd rather buy a used one that is already running and has all the kinks worked out of it. Seems like a lot of Kimbers and nice .1911s just will not run all that well till you do some work on them.

I have two Kimbers that run flawlessly out of the box. I must be the only lucky Kimber owner in the world.

I have three Kimbers, a 5" Custom II, a 4" Stainless Pro Carry II, and a 3" Ultra Carry II. Not a problem with any of them. I'd buy Kimber again without hesitation.
