Tossing one on the living room couch better than locked in the car?

I see pictures all over the internet of them leaned up in a corner of the bedroom. Or in one of those old glass door gun cases in the living room. Ain’t much keeping meth heads from kicking in the back door after you leave for work.

The reality is bad guys will find a way.
Yup. I know of two guys that had their guns stolen. One was broken into while he was at work, the other was a home invasion.

The second case ended up with the sheriff returning a pistol after it was used in a crime, and they traced the serial number back to my buddy. (he had given them a list of stolen items)

Should he feel guilty or responsible for not having the guns in a vault like Ft. Knox?

Because some of us don't accept guilt for crimes others commit.
I would not accept full guilt for someone elses crime, and I get what your saying. Guns don't kill people people do. But I would still have to accept my neglect in the matter. Whether it was a hardened criminal that was going to do it anyways or a curious 11 year old.

Some people carry rifles in their car on a daily basis. They think it's a good idea and honestly, with a few exceptions, I think so too. The problem is, if you're out in your car, you are more than likely going to get out and go inside somewhere. Now you have left an unattended weapon in your car. I do this every single time I go hunting because I invariably stop for something to eat and/or a bathroom break. The idea that some people go everywhere with a rifle probably rustles some jimmies too. I do keep my vehicles in a locked garage and not out in my driveway.

if you keep stuff out of site it may help- also motion lights- security stickers on doors and my little Gus who will not let a thing move outside without yakkin - no guarantees, but it might move em down to the house who leaves everything shining through the windows.

Not having gun company stickers on your vehicle might help also. It's a free country, but ever time I pass some macho dude with a handful of stickers on their truck I think advertising that you have goodies is a bad idea.

But if said macho dude gets his truck broken into it is still solely the thieves fault, no one else.
