It is common for modern police vehicles to come equipped with a lockable arms vault. Civilian vehicles can be retrofitted with effective lock vaults. Just have to remember to use them, as well as lock the vault up
I know an FBI agent that the one night he left his car parked in his driveway, had the “vault” in his trunk defeated in a matter of minutes.

Why are so many people leaving firearms in there vehicles? I would not be able to live with myself if someone stole my firearm and used it against my family. Mine always goes in the house when I do.
Because some of us don't accept guilt for crimes others commit.

In your momma’s bedroom.
Tossing one on the living room couch better than locked in the car?

I see pictures all over the internet of them leaned up in a corner of the bedroom. Or in one of those old glass door gun cases in the living room. Ain’t much keeping meth heads from kicking in the back door after you leave for work.

The reality is bad guys will find a way.

I do my best to never leave guns in my car. Or any other items of value. But it’s got nothing to do with guilt over a possible crime. It’s because I value the item and don’t want it stolen. I’ve personally had my vehicle broken into 4 times and not once did they steal a gun from me. Because there wasn’t one in there for them.
