So a friend reminded me that Farmers Almanac predicts this to be a bad winter. Well, when it's a "good" winter we generally go at least a few days without power and/or running water. A "bad" one has been known to result in 2-3 weeks.

So I started running though "the list" because I know our stocks are a little low in a few areas, and I realized something. I can't find my 6D-cell Maglight/Beatstick! I remembered looking for it shortly before I bought my Fenix TK-12, but I never found it and have been using the Fenix light exclusively.

So I just spent a half hour looking for the Maglight, but I can't find it.

I mean, seriously, how do you lose something THAT big?

(Can the car in a pasture jokes... I know people that has actually happened to, or so those old farts tell me...)

I had one of those beater mag lights, and the A-hole that stole my schit got it too.
Actually the light sucked, but the beater part of it was awesome!!

Yeah, you blind them if it's got fresh batteries, then battery them with the other end.

If it doesn't break when being used as a hammer (don't ask), then it won't break when my life depends on it.

Not many do anymore.VM,surely you have more than one light??

I have that Maglight (if I can find it), my Fenix, a wind-up lantern, a Faraday light, and at least 4 of those cheap $1 craplights.

We also have 2 or 3 oil lanterns, wood burning stove (which we use as primary heat when it gets really cold out and just stay out of the bedroom except to sleep, in which case we have a TON of blankets), and 6 Sterno 55 hour candles.

We also have plenty of liquor and beer to keep spirits high for playing Monopoly or Battleship or other games we have.

With the forecasted winter, though, we might need more wood. We have just over a rick. We used just under 3/4 in the worst one we had in the 3 years we've been here, but that also included leisure fires.

I hate to tell you this but you are just blind.

GC had a surefire that stays on the nightstand. "He" lost it. He said "I" lost it. I tore that bedroom up looking for that danged thing ... then I moved to the gun room, the storage room, the garage, the living room ... you get my drift. Moved furniture around and everything ...

I spent probably 6 months looking for that damned thing. Finally broke down and bought a new one. Then we bought a new bed ... I found the $%(*#$( flashlight ...
