Find a private broker to look for the best prices/coverages, or just check em all yourself, it will be different for everyone, that being said, USAA has great rates and coverage for me, but my favorite part is their customer service, and you can open a bank account with them(either use it or leave it idle, I have several accounts with them) and get further insurance discounts...

my folks have them too...

Hey there!

I live over NE of Tulsa and had to change as well earlier this year. I was with Farm Bureau and they jacked my rates on homeowners and auto but my biggest gripe is I wasn't getting the service from the agent. Farm Bureau had raised my rates on the auto $300 on 2 different renewals with no changes in my risk factors (no tickets/no accidents) and then hit me with deductible change on my homeowners reneewal where it went from $500 to $2000 - but my premium did go down $6.00 hahahaha. When I checked into it, it once again had nothing to do with me (no changes in risk factors) but was a rate issue in my part of the state. Once again, no agent contact about anything. I understand this happens at some point with all companies to maintain profitability but after my 1st rate increase with the company I had gone in and raised cane with the agent and told him that he should at least give me a courtesy call for good news or bad news. After the 2nd auto rate increase I was in there again giving him grief. I once again explained what I viewed as customer service which he agreed with me on. I left the office and about 5 days later got the homeowners change. What truly peeved me off is that I had stood there in front of him with him most likely fully knowing I had another adverse impact to policies coming and never mentioned a thing. So.....I kicked him to the curb.

Okay.....I've ranted enough......one of the OSA members is an agent for ANPAC (American National) and has been awesome to deal with and has FANTASTIC pricing for my area. Put it this way....my auto and ho are waaaaay less expensive than my prior stuff and my motorcycle policy is much better also. He's great to deal with and is located in Shawnee. His OSA "handle" is Jeff3C. Give him a buzz. He's very up front and will be able to tell you if he can help or not and has no problem directing you to others if he can't do you any good. His focus seems to be just helping folks out because he even offered to refer me to one of the ANPAC folks in my area so I would have a local person to deal with if I chose but he met the bill perfectly for what I needed with both customer service and knowledge for my agent.

Hope this helps.

I don't know is such a company exist. I've had State Farm for 40 years for auto and 30 years on home owners. I got a letter from them about 2 years ago stating that they would not cover rock chips in windsheilds any more. My premium didn't drop any. I've checked prices with other companies and can't get a better price.

Odd... I or my parents have had them covered in the last two years.

I'm a third generation State Farm customer with a single agent. I think that has some bearing. When we were shopping around for insurance when we bought our trailer, every insurer we went to besides State Farm and Farm Bureau wouldn't touch it. Farm Bureau was who the previous owner used, and said that they had switched from State Farm because Farm Bureau was about 10% cheaper. When we applied, Farm Bureau came back with the same rate they gave the previous owner, and State Farm came back about 20% cheaper with better terms.

The day we got married, my car insurance premium plummeted since I went from "male under 25" to "married - stable".

The only thing I don't like about State Farm is the calls every 4-6 months trying to upsell another service, such as refinancing our car loans through them.

USAA. My family got hit by a typhoon and a super-typhoon when we were stationed in Guam. Destroyed part of our house and my car. Both times USAA treated us well. Rates for homeowners are the lowest I've seen. My only advice would be to make sure that your policy includes replacement cost for items damaged and not actual value (no huge difference in policy cost).

anybody reccomend a good company for home and auto? mine has raised rates through the roof

If you are or were military, USAA is the only way to go. Others couldn't come within a hundred dollars a month of their rates. They are fast and fair when it comes time to pay up too!

Had State Farm for 20+ years, then they would not pay for my roof. Paid for my own.

Got Okla Farm Bureau, paid for my next roof, then cancelled me this year. Now have Farmers.

For auto, I like Progressive. They always pay for claims when I needed them. Didn't go up on rates either.I wish they did home insurance in Okla.
