Great. Lucky she figured out that's what she really wanted.I got her a Ruger Precision Rifle in .308 and topped it with a Nightforce NX8 scope.

Do you MacGyver the .22 barrel to 308 and 30-06 or start out with a 308 and 30-06 barrel gun and MacGyver the .22 bullets to size.I shoot a 104 gr cast bullet sized to .308 from my 308 and propelled by .3cc of red dot powder.
Nickle size groups to 30 yards and 2" at 60 yards with plenty of knock down for cans etc.
664 fps
If that does not get her liking rifles you could bump up that red dot load to 10 gr.
And top it with some 170 gr cast bullets.
My buddies wife shoots my 30-06 with 11.5gr red dot and 170 gas checked Lee bullet all day long.
1400 fps.
She was hesitant of shooting it at first.
But after the first then second then third she asked me how many of those rounds I had made.
I can shoot 25 or more and the barrel is not even as hot as leaving it in the sun on a 70 degree day.
Too much fun.
Reloading equipment plus molds and lead and the time to load and only shoot nickel groups at 30 yds. I thought you were cheap. Keep up the MacGyver stuff its entertaining .On post 30 the OP stated he "got his wife" a 308 and I just wanted to put it out there cast bullets can be fun plinkers.
Turn that "heavy" kicker into a rifle that kicks less than a .22
Options ya know.
