Is it true? Could Colt be looking to bail out of Connecticut?

I sure hope they do as well as Remington and I believe Smith and Wesson. Since most of the legislators from those states have a habit of thinking decent law biding citizens should not have guns I am sure they do not want their states having tax revenue from evil companies.

Those companies could go from liberal cesspools to a decent Christian state like Oklahoma, Alabama, Mississippi, Idaho, Utah or something like that.

I know I am tired of yankees telling the rest of the country how to live their lives. I married a yankee, but still

Colt sent a bunch of employees to Hartford to lobby the legislature last week (or maybe the week before), and, IIRC, they carried the threat of pulling up stumps and going elsewhere. I guess we'll find out who's serious.

You know it's really sad if you are a history buff. Massachusetts, Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania and others all had many armories that actually made it possible for our country happen at all.

Springfield Armory was largely responsible for the American manufacturing prowess that made us a super power. It all started with the making of arms, powder and canon in the new England states. It also continued for years and years in the search for the ability to make gun parts that would interchange and that took until after the civil war. The roots of machine making that allowed us to become what we did all lies in the making of arms. When Springfield Armory was shuttered in 1968 we were the largest exporter of machine tools in the world. A mere 20 years later we were the largest importer. These commie pukes probably don't know this or even care.

I went to a class at Jones and Lampson MT in the 80's, right after they bellied up. The machine tool auction was going on that week. It was amazing to see the tools that made the tools that took us through the early wars in their small museum.
For example, there was a lathe used during the war between the states that was foot powered. Just like an old singer sewing machine. It was used to turn the blank cannon rounds to the size of the cannon being used in the field.
Most were cast smoothbores, and had to have custom cannon rounds made. These weren't round.

I've always been amazed at how America is so empowered to flush itself down the toilet. My whole life I wanted to visit New England since it was where "America" -as I knew it- began. I was able to go about three years ago and don't care to go back. Those historical places like Boston, Cambridge, etc. are all there. You drive down the highways and see the exit signs for these once great places. Now they're all infested with heinous libtards.

So why do I mention this? Because many of our great historical firearms manufacturers are located right smack in the middle of idiot central. Why, oh why do they continue to stay there?!? I say get the hell out and go to where you are appreciated! There are many places is the "real" America that will gladly accept the Colts and Smith & Wessons with open arms.

I know some of my posts come of as something written by a crotchety old bastard but some things are just very important to me. I hate that the once great US is filling up with a bunch of p#$$ified pansy-ass, whining libtards. :boxing3:

Dennis, It's Jones & Lamson. :D
I come from a long line of machinists. My great grandfather was a dad-gum genius. He designed and built his own automatic lathes and mills way before NC, CNC or even electronic calculators. He also designed and built a one-off vault door for a bank and was an astronomy buff so he built telescopes too including grinding the glass. Even made one for a university somewhere long before I was even thought about. He was German so it fits. lol

Flat, I'm right there with you. I'd love to take about a two month road trip to see some sights. Revolutionary war battle sites, Springfield Armory...How cool would it be to stand where George Washington, Thomas Payne, Paul Revere or Ben Franklin once lived and worked? But I fear that I would just come home more bitter than I already am. :scream:

Here, but occasionally There.
I am capitalist enough to fully believe that it would be a good thing for some of the firearms (or, for that matter, other manufacturers as well) to move to Oklahoma. However, I would be concerned that should a company move, that their employees would also move with the company. Thus, the receiving state would then have some people moving into the state that may share some, if not all, of the liberal ideas of the state they left. By going to a conservative state, I'd be fearful that they would be wanting some of the "benefits" of the state they left and thus want the politician of their "new" state to provide the same benefits.
