I was an ARMY brat growing up which has resulted in having what is described as no accent or an unidentifiable accent. What was really weird was when I lived in South Dakota and several locals asked if I was from California, there are a lot of West coast transplants in SD & apparently they thought I sounded like I was from CA. I found it interesting because I've never lived on either coast, I've lived all up & down the Midwest but never the coast. The one verbal trait of mine that people everywhere comment on is that they think I talk fast.
