Congrats on the Forrester and condolences to the family.

Keep it serviced, run full synthetic oil and use only Wix or Subaru filters. Subarus have a monster oil pump and they spec an insane bypass valve pressure that most filters don't comply with. Wheel bearings generally go close to 100K but are known for going out sooner. Other than that it'll last and last as long as you keep it serviced and the AWD is ahead of everything else out there. It's mind blowing how well they drive in the snow. As soon as I can I will be buying another one. I ain't no lib...if they made one in diesel...
