Ended up building my 9 y.o. son and 10 y.o. daughter each an AR for Christmas this year. Had only planned on doing her's, but got worried about election fallout on the parts market and went ahead and did his too. Glad I did, since they both ended up killing their first deer this year with my AR. These are both chambered 277 Wolverine, just like mine they used hunting. Both 16" and threaded, her's is stainless 1:7, and his is melonite 1:11. Both of them picked right up on disassembly of BCG, from taking it out of the rifle to breaking it down to bolt/f.p./carrier/etc, then reassembling all of it. From an old military man, pretty proud! They are setup now for short to medium range hunting for deer, coyotes, etc. in a no recoil rifle.
