I suspect he may not do that until he figures out how to make it work for MIL only. I'm sure he doesn't want to impact his MIL customers.

Actually that wouldn't be hard. He's talking about suspending agency sales of restricted items in states that restrict those items (30 round magazines or normal AR-15s to California etc...). Military personnel cannot individually purchase restricted items in restricted states either so any purchase would have to be an official purchase through procurement channels and it would be easy to differentiate.

He could actually do that for police department agency sales too, but he's trying to put pressure on the pro-gun police unions/organizations in those states...

State and local agencies are the wrong focus of this. These people have nothing to do with new regulations and are loaded with second amendment supporters. Why limit the abilities of those who are actually tasked with helping others? If LT wants to make a statement then they should aim it at the federal govt.

The intent is not to punish state and local LEOs, but to create a situation where those state and local LEOs bring pressue to bear against their unions and representative organizations in states that have actually passed legislation. The list of police organizations that fell in behind the latest ban in New York is too long.

Larue is just saying, "Hey, if the citizens of your state can't by 30 round mags or an AR15, then you shouldn't be able to either...or at least you aren't going to buy them from me. Go get your house in order, fix it, and then we'll talk."

As of right now, there hasn't been any new bans or restrictions from the feds....so they are not in the crosshairs, yet.

State and local governments are the ones actually passing further restrictions. The federal government didn't restrict New York to seven round magazines, the New York government did. So why should gun companies do business with a New York government that is trying to put them out of business? Same with the California government and many city governments (such as NYC) which go even further. If police and other agencies in need of weapons and ammo in those cities and states could no longer buy them then maybe those politicians would wake up. Or at least maybe the unions representing those officers would wake up and then pressure the governments to back off. In any case, it makes no sense to do business with those who are trying to put you out of business.

I understand your argument but all of the states where this legislation comes from are located on the east and west coasts. Other states such as Oklahoma have actually proposed legislation that guarantees second amendment rights. Local and state agencies in the middle of the country have no ability to put pressure on those radical lawmakers. Punitive measures are being taken against the wrong people.

"In other words, LaRue Tactical will limit all sales to what law-abiding citizens residing in their districts can purchase or possess."

If OK doesn't pass any restrictive laws, then Larue won't limit what they sell here.
