I understand your argument but all of the states where this legislation comes from are located on the east and west coasts. Other states such as Oklahoma have actually proposed legislation that guarantees second amendment rights. Local and state agencies in the middle of the country have no ability to put pressure on those radical lawmakers. Punitive measures are being taken against the wrong people.

That's a non-starter as this will not affect any of those agencies, unless the states they serve start enacting restrictive laws on civilians. These measures are directed right on target.

I've been harping on this since Barrett Firearms did the very same to the California DOJ.

I've repeatedly urged folks to put the screws to the firearm/ammo manufacturers in order to make them shoulder a li'l of the responsibility of 2A protection......but it has mostly fallen on deaf ears I suppose because I honestly cannot remember one single post in agreement.

Take SIG or HK for example....
They should, in my opinion, state in no uncertain terms that if the government doesn't keep their hands off the 2A that they will cease to provide and/or service the weapons of DHS and other agencies.
We should put their feet to the fire, folks!

So far the only manufacturers that have taken a stand are Barrett and LaRue........companies that don't take a big enough bite outta' things to really matter.

Now, I wonder if this latest action will keep the idea fresh in the minds of gun owners and 2A defenders or if this will be long forgotten in short order just as Barrett's actions were......

I think Olympic Arms just jumped on board. But I agree that we need a SIG, S&W, Glock, Colt, Bushmaster or Springfield to jump on board to really see some effectiveness.

Well.....Beretta, COLT, & FN.
That oughta' do the trick.

Considering tho' that civilian sales aren't even a drop in the bucket for those manufacturers, they prolly couldn't give two sh!+s....

Better than that would be to get the ammo manufacturers on board. If police can't replace their old guns that is an inconvenience, if they don't have ammo that is serious immediately.
