Can someone give me a link or let me know what the federal laws are for shipping a handgun slide (only) back to the importer (USA) for warranty repair?
I have perused the ATF site and read different posts on this site but nothing I found mentions a part of a handgun. Thanks in advance for your input.

You only need to worry about the frame (part with the serial number). Anything other than the frame is just misc. parts and can be shipped any way you like. If the frame (with other parts or not) is being shipped, then you are shipping a handgun and it has to go UPS or Fedex overnight to an FFL or manufacturer.

What 1911user said. If it's just the slide, you can snail mail it if you want to. I would personaly use UPS with overnite. I've never had a problem with them is why. Your choice though man. Hope they fix whatever it is and you get back to throwin rounds down range soon!
