On the fake money front always look for water marks, hold the bill up to light and look for the corresponding presidents face. Fell the money it will feel different (kinda like linen) and look to see if the pictures are crisp. I was a teller for years and fake money does honestly stick out like a sore thumb if you can compare it side by side with a real bill.
