Yep. I hate my neighbor's dog taking a dump in my front yard. Other than run him off when I catch him there's not a lot I'm gonna be able to do because I'm not killing a dog just because his owner's a dick. I feed the other neighbor's cats on a fairly regular basis. Same deal. I'm not gonna poison the neighbor's cats just because the neighbor is an ass and only feeds his cats once or twice a week (to keep them hungry so they'll mouse ... whatever ... We had mousers in all my dad's barns growing up. They don't "mouse" because they are hungry. They "mouse" because they like the thrill of hunting. We fed our mousers just like we fed the housecat.)

i haved lived in the country , town and the city.
i have been working on my truck (in city)when a pair of the neighbors dogs barking and growling at me forced me in the house.
i have been in my backyard with my toddlers when a mixed pack of breeds went along my fence (chainlink) growling at my small dogs and small children .
i have been playing on the empty lot when neighbors pit latched on to my weiner dog max.
i have sat in the hospital consoling my sister when a german sheppard (a neighbors dog) bit my nieces face .
when i moved to the country last, having growed up in the country, i went introduced myself to the neighbors and told them if my small city dogs bothered their livestock to shoot them .
just exactly what do you city folk think happens to dogs you dump in the country? can you afford to feed 20 strays ?
as for small dogs versus large let the small dog chase a high dollar horse through a fence .
i have shot my own dog , your dog , your cat and mine , as well as any possum or armadillo or racoon that found the house.
i have trained my animals to respect their boundries and disposed of the ones that didn't .
we are to be stewards not coddlers, i can not afford nor want additional burdens on my family nor will i put them on yours .
if my dog troubles your cows , dont come crying to me, shoot it ! or if you come to me get out my way because i will shoot it .
right to own animals is not without responsibility , and responsibilty and price must be something your prepared to pay.
excuse me i just went and let my two brave dogs in because they were barking at the neighbors arrival home .
i help my mother in her backyard doing chores to the incessant barking of neighbors dogs .

was the kid bragging or warning or voicing his frustration ? i dont know but there again , he wasnt shown or didnt show responsible internet use .
but does he deserve death threats to him and his familiy?

Well written. I have shot my own dogs as well when they did wrong by me or a neighbor.
Also when I was 5, a dog chewed the better half of my face off and almost killed me. Unless you have lived through that as a 5 yo, you have no idea. A plastic surgeon (Sylverstien) sewed me up. To this day, if a dog shows his teeth at me, I gut him like a fish.
Call it reactionary and the ultimate alpha male move.
i live way out in the country and i just couldnt shoot a dog for fun i rescue them and find a home for them
Yep. We have dumpers around our place in the country.
We have tried, and failed.
The local pound is full and won't take them, and the humane society is likewise.
Kid was stupid to post that on facebook. Just sayin
it's a scary thing , my neice was feeding a dog known to her. she went to put more in the bowl and it turned and snapped in a blink. thankfully she had a good surgeon and only has a light scar through her lip and chin .
they are animals and deserve respect for their capabilities , and i dont care how much love you show them , they have that capability to do harm.
we have to follow our own ethics , since i no longer own chickens i dont blast or run over every possum i see . a momma pit and her pup have visited me twice now . but i dont own cows right now , however my neighbors do and my others own horses, and if i saw them molesting them i wouldn't hesitate .
i'm glad you survived and pray for your continued healing .
