Got an old browning b92 in 357 too. Pretty much tack driver with cast 158 swhp . I like it.

I also have a Winchester trapper I think in 44 mag. Short barrel, standard lever and no communist button safety. It is pretty pristine I think from the 80’s. No pic. My daughter’s first deer gun. It’s a peach. Probably hasn’t had 150 rds fired through it. I got it unfired.

wasn't too many years ago pre 64 winchesters were about 400-500 now i guess everything lever action is about $1,000, I have no lever actions for sale, but i am hoping Yellowstone will feature some hi-point firearms

That Henry Small Game Carbine is the cat's meow. Short, smooth, surgically accurate out to about 70 yards. Haven't shot it beyond that I don't think.

Ditto. I decided I needed a lever action.....settled on the Henry Small Game Carbine. Great, accurate little rifle. Large loop lever. Peep sight.

Browning BL22. These have a super short throw and you can leave your thumb over the top like normal and flick your fingers in the loop to cycle it.

This thread encouraged me to dig the BL22 out from the very back of the safe and ring some steel in the back yard last night. It's just fun flicking your fingers to cycle these little guys. Everybody needs a lever action 22.

I started deer hunting in the early 80’s with a West Point lever action 30-30 and really didn’t appreciate it at the time, because in my young mind, a “deer” gun was a bolt action in 270win. Years later, I really came to appreciate lever actions and the 30-30 caliber, and since then, I’ve killed a bunch of deer and pigs with a lever action 30-30.

So, assuming this is just an open lever gun discussion. I just picked up Jack Wallace’s old model 94, and I’m really thrilled to have it. I don’t intend on removing the name from the rifle, but looking at the furniture there is some damage. Thoughts on refinishing? It’s a 1972 model and is in great shape overall, but does have the previous owners name engraved into it. Thoughts? Should I keep the original furniture untouched and buy new, or should I assume this will likely remain a shooter and refinish it under the assumption that it won’t really be detracting from its future value? I will definitely be shooting this rifle and taking it hunting.
