I have an acquaintance that buys guns and puts them in his safe for his kids that he doesn't have yet. He was asking me about some type of protectant lubricant.

I told him i wasn't sure since I shoot most of mine every few months to a year and typically use REM OIL or LPS for my short term storage.
I read in another thread someone suggested Ballistol. Is that suggested for long term storage? Long term for him I'm guessing is 10-15 yrs.
Suggestions?
Thank

Got too many guns oil em and vacuum pack em. Buy food in bulk and vacuum pack. Going camping and need to keep matches dry. Vacuum pack em! Call fast first 100 callers get two times the bags.

Ok it reminded me of the infomercial. Lol

There is a reason you can still find military arms covered in cosmoline after 50 years. Good enough for them, good enough for me. Or.......he could let me "store" them for him and I will make sure they pass any usage test :).

I've used the RCBS grease a time or two because it was available local.
Never had any problems. Looks about like bearing grease.
Cosomoline has a history.
