that looks like the perfect kid's rifle... single shot should slow em down. action looks super strong... tough enough to survive a kid.

had a Benjamin pump air rifle as a kid that went through hell and back. killed many a critter with that Benjamin, sure wish I still had that rifle.

don't over look a good pump up air rifle for your kids.
best is an old Sheridan Rocker Safety Blue/Silver streak.

Because if you can handle a break-open rifle,,,
The H&R Sportster is one sweet rifle,,,
Retails for about $125-$140.

Get the compact version for the littlest kids,,,
Change the rear stock when they get a bit bigger.

I own one of these rifles and I can attest to their inherent accuracy,,,
It easily shoots as well as my Henry Accubolt.

Inexpensive high performance is what these rifles give you,,,
And the kids I let shoot mine love ejecting the rounds back over their shoulders.

Just a thought for you to consider.

10 shot, magazine fed, bolt action, around 125-150 depending on stock option, many stock options.

I own the 702 Semi-auto rifle,,,
It's been a very sweet and accurate rifle for me.

I would assume that the 802 bolt-action would be just as sweet.

They make a lot of versions from Tacti-Cool

Ya might check them out,,,
My semi-auto is a fine rifle.

CZ 452 Scout is IMHO the best. But the other choices such as Savage, Marlin, H&R are good. I don't have any experience with the super small Chipmunk or Cricket.

Henry also makes a youth bolt action, as I recall.
