My Beagle, Chancey, is the smartest dog I've ever owned but if she puts that nose on the ground there is no snapping her out of it. They say thats why many Beagles get hit by cars. Glad yours are OK.

My dogs kept digging under our fence and mine would also jump over it, been a month since either of them got out now. I installed an electric fence 4" off the ground and at the top of my 6' fence now they wont get anywhere near that wire.
