After I stupidly sold both my skeleton and urban warden, I've been Jonesing for another Busse Game Warden like nobody's business. I see that most of the models I'm looking at are now in the $300 range though (looking at a fancier one in satin).

The Urban Warden was honestly the best knife I ever owned and the one I miss the most.

Money's kind of tight right now, so I'm actually considering selling a gun to get it (that's how bad I miss my old one).

Anyone have a EDC fixed-blade that you couldn't live without?

I think that Warden might have been mine. The Rat 3 was just a touch too big, but that Busse was perfect.

I've been looking at Ontario's Rat 3 in D2 and some of the TOPs knives, but I just keep going back to that Warden.

Obviously Busse's are great knives but Rat Cutlery makes some damn good knives for the money. I love my Rat 3 and it will take some abuse and if you want a bigger knife the old Hoonglas is a lot of steel for the money

I gotta say that is a really good looking knife. I've never owned a truly nice knife, so I can't speak otherwise on it.

I've owned two Randalls (RC3s) and they are great knives, but they're made of 1095 High Carbon steel and they ask a pretty penny for them seeing as how the cost of the materials are pretty low (and 1095 does require some extra care when seriously using it in the elements).

I'm not taking anything away from them for that - truth is, they're tough great knives, but since they split ways with Ontario over the contract to make the RAT knives, Ontario started making RATs in D2 Tool steel for just a little more - I'd probably go with an Ontario next time if I got one, but for an EDC fixed-blade, the RC3 was just a little too large.

Now the Izula II with the micarta handles on it... that one shows some promise.

Still, nothing compares to the Game Warden as far as fit to my hand (I'm waiting on Sumo to chime in and give his approval :D ).

Well, you can't just go out and BUY one!

What were you thinking?

Try Bladeforums exchange for busse, swamprat and scrapyard.

Here's a fat (.270) warden I shaped the handles on:

That fat knife is sweet!

I didn't think they'd have a "buy now" option, just didn't even see any info listed on their site, which I did expect if that knife is still being made.
