If he used a teleprompter for that, he's extremely gifted at it. Unlike most of the other speakers, he actually sounded natural and like he was speaking from the heart. I like him.
I agree, he is smooth. It makes me wonder why Romney didn't choose him for VP. Either Romney doesn't want the competition, or Rubio has something bad in his past. Maybe the RNC sent down the order to redshirt him for two terms.
Ryan is a better choice.
Rubio has little to offer, and perhaps a little potential baggage from while he was in the Fla. House.
This, plus he is not that much more experienced then Obama was. Give him another few years and he will be ready for primetime.
Ryan was a better pick on several levels.
1) Even at 42 years old, he's the intellectual giant in Congress when it comes to fiscal policy.
2) He has stones.
3) The dims utterly hate him because they can't even begin to measure up in an honest debate on economics. Ryan can whip them all in his sleep.
4) Picking Ryan was a shot "across the bow" to the dims and us voters. It was a message saying that "I'm dead serious when I say I'm going to fix the economy".
Rubio just doesn't have the experience yet, but I can see a Ryan/Rubio ticket in 2020.

3) Wont speak for the Dems, but he's been in congress a long time, he's part of the problem.
4) Picking Ryan scares knowbody, he will be a powerless propagandist for Romney unless something happens to Romney.
Im thinking a Jeb Bush/Rubio ticket would work well for the GOP, after Obamas 2nd term.
