Medical marijuana is a scam. Either legalize pot or don't. I'm on the fence. Maybe a bit more against it than for it, but not really big in either camp and rather enjoy the state flexing it's constitutional muscle against the federal government.

Its pretty ridiculous a harmless plant that could ultimately have many beneficial uses causes so much ruckus. Alcohol is far worse. I would use occasionally if it were legal and if my company wouldn't fire me over inhaling. Though the side effects are pretty bad... like laughter, weird creative thoughts, and the tendency to eat a sphincter load of whatever sounds good at the time. That which includes but is not limited to... deep fried Little Debbie oatmeal cream pies laced with Fruity Pebbles and a splash of vanilla ice cream deep fried in a tortilla.... One of my personal favorites from the college years. Oh and not to mention the fact of overcrowded prisons for drug charges when murderers, thieves and repeat offenders are getting put out on the streets to make room for first time drug offenders to teach society a lesson when we have judges and legislators hopped up on their own version of relaxation.... Xanax. Its a joke.

YES.

But the Supreme Court voted NO on reclassifying marijuana last week thus refusing to drop it from the class of drugs it is in, the class of drugs with no medical benefits. So it is going to be awhile before any state makes it totally legal. Obama has said that he isnt going to push things in Colorado and Washington state, for now, so they can act like its totally legal there until the government decides on a day to crack down on them. And they will at some point. I was in California the day last year when the feds raided hundreds of dispensaries and now only a portion of them have reopened. Same will happen in Colorado and Washington. Legal in Oklahoma, not any time soon, or ever. IMO it will be the last state to go legal same as it was with tattooing.

Only a portion re-opened because only a handful were profitable anyways, they are run as non-profits out in Cali. The dumbest thing I have ever seen or been a part of was California. Most of the dispensaries in Cali, again because they are indoor, lost $$$ hand over fist, giving away a VICE drug because you believe it to be medicinal is a bad business plan. It costs $ to produce, and time as well, that being said it cant be given away for free.

The same will not happen in Colorado and Washington, I believe those states will be the first states to get away with it, the comprehensive plans they are implementing make California look like Fisher Price Fun Time. They will DEFINITELY be there trying to use undercover's to purchase large amounts with Fake State ID's from Producers and Retail Sales Establishments attempting to get someone screwed on interstate trafficking, because they have nothing better to do than to ruin peoples business or lives. I bet the first year alone 40% of the Producers will get "Raided" because they have employees who sell on the street. They will not raid legitimate businesses with FULL state Compliance, and guess what, if they do it opens a HUGE can of worms, there have been precedents set in other states where police wrongfully raided and STOLE a medical marijuana patients product, won millions of dollars, They want to argue each plant is worth 10k when its illegal but then if you catch them its worthless...not anymore buster.

Do you think it is ok for a State to tell the FED to fudge off on gun rights but when it comes to legal pot, they better watch out? If so you have misplaced the logic portion of reasoning somewhere and need help finding it. I for one see a LOT more tax revenue and good being done with the marijuana business, but that is just me. Most Gun manufacturers use the Double Dutch Or Dutch Irish Arrangement Tax Loophole to avoid extraneous tax bills, most marijuana producers do not, fact. The biggest portion of taxes should come from the PRODUCER of a product, not the CONSUMER.

I say nope......drug addiction starts (usually) with marijuana. Then they want to get MORE high, so let's try Meth, or Cocaine, or heroin. Just my experience. That is for the decriminalazation........Not sure how I feel about the medical portion. There is already drugs available for pain management.

This is the land of the free. If you want to ingest draino, go buy some and chug away. You should be able to. You should have the freedom to make your own choices.

Every hard narcotic user I've ever dealt with started with mj. But not every mj user will go on to use hard narcotics... The problem is there's no way to tell who will or won't.

But that's not why I'm against it. I have an issue with the lack of oversight. I run into people with med cards for crap like I stubbed my toe at work(yes really). And California already proved the tax angle doesn't work. Most grow their own, no taxes. They didn't get near the windfall tax revenue they hoped for.

Too each their own, but I'll stay in the no corner.

It is not for you to decide. If someone wants to snort some coke, you, your moral high ground, and your brown shirts won't stop them.
