Met your SO through a chance encounter?

I was on patrol one night at a "small, private Midwestern college" and saw one of our student officers hanging out with her summer suitemate. We talked a little bit that night.

About 5 months later, I ran into her at the dining hall. We sat and talked for about 2 hours (it was basically a fixed post for me). Asked her out to dinner the next day. 17 December 1992 was our first date.

I guess it depends on whether one clicks once or twice on a link.

Ha, good answer. The stories here have been good so far, but I was talking more along the lines of encountering someone in person whom you knew you'd probably never see again unless you took action. No introductions by a third party, no mutual friends/acquaintances.

If the woman in QT had turned to say hi back to me, who knows how that might have turned out.

Met my wife at a house party one night in college at a place I've only ever been that once and even that night was a chance thing. Went with a friend who knew the homeowner but I didn't really know anyone there. Told my friend to go talk to her and see what she did for a living. She was a Veterinary Technician and there was a dog at this house...game over. Married 3 years this coming Feb.

I did meet mine by chance in a kinda sorta way. I didn't pick "hand select by bore" in the russian mail order bride order. Pretty big chance there.

I met my future wife at walmart, in the sporting goods a few years ago. Finally decided to be super sweet and made her a giant breakfast in bed. No holiday, just a random nice guy thing to do. And instead of a polite thank you, she screamed "Who are you!?! How'd you get in my house!?!"

Mine was dating a friend of mine, Gabe and I was dating Gabe's sister. Gabe and I lived in the same 4 plex and we had been drinking buddies for a while. Long story short, Gabe and his sis went on their merry way and me and mine fell in love, 7 years ago.

Seen my wife at a club one night I never been there before and it was a chance thing because it was not my type of music, or element. Went with a few friends since none of us had anything to do and couldn't travel that far. I just couldn't get over her beauty and my friend kept telling me to go talk to her because I am not shy and I have talked and dated extremely hot women. Needless to say I just couldn't bring myself to go talk to her, so my friend (a girl) went and gave her my phone number at the end of the night. Received a call about a week later, talked on the phone for about a year without ever seeing her again. One night she asked me to go out, a week later I moved in. Married now for 17 years.
