I recently decided that I'd like to collect a few semi auto handguns and I went a little crazy on gunbroker an ended up winning every auction I bid on. So my question is if its OK to do multiple transfers within a week? Two of them will be within 24 hours. I've never failed any background check or even had to wait. Just wondering if anyone had any experience, all 3 will be from different ffl's.

Awesome, thanks for the info guys. Never bought three guns in such a short amount of time and wasn't sure if it would cause problems or not.

If they are all received by the same FFL then they will file a multi gun purchase sheet, done lots of them, they are just looking for people buying dozens of guns every week. The only one that raised any flags was a collector of ours that bought 100 colt pythons over a 2 week period. Feds visited us and him and convinced him to get his own FFL.

I once bought four identical pistols at the same time. They were Ruger .22s. At the Tin Star in Weatherford. Don't know if they reported or not. When I ordered I asked if giving them for christmas presents was straw buying and Matt said no. No problems no calls, just fun shooting with my family.

Over the years I've had to use that form three times. Three times that I went to my transfer dealer to get two or more handguns at once. They fill out one copy and send it to ATF. And another copy goes to your county Sheriff. In my case, the paperwork went in and .... never heard a peep about it. In my case, I figure the file is rather large already... what's one more form??
