My 6.5 Grendel Remington 700 in progress

Because I want one is the best answer. Lighter than my two ars, and really just cause I want it, on the bright side, the bottom metal I’m putting on it take the same ar mags

If you already have 6.5 Grendel in ARs, then adding a bolt gun in Grendel makes more sense. As a stand alone gun it makes less sense.

But like the man said: “I want one” is always a valid reason to have one.

I couldn't get a good picture of it, but I did get the bottom of the action milled to accept M-16 magazines, and tomorrow I will get the barrel threaded and headspaced to the action.

I took a bad fall and messed up my elbow and shoulder, and that has put me behind on this build, and I apologize for that. I will however stay on it till the work is completed.

Receiver threads were recut with the centerline of the action.

Barrel threads are cut and are as smooth as a baby's bottom. The barrel threads were cut .0015 oversize and the barrel and action were lapped together. There is now 0.0000 play between the barrel and action.

The shank on the barrel has been cut for the oversize and tapered recoil lug, and headspace has been set at 0.0015.

I throated the barrel this morning, per the dummy rounds that you brought to me.

The barrel has been cut to the length you requested, and has been set between in the lathe. Getting ready to turn down the shank now, and cut the 5/8-24 threads.
