great thread. not hating at all just curious why 6.5 Grendel? I always seen the major attraction to the round being that it can be used in an ar15 platform.
Because I want one is the best answer. Lighter than my two ars, and really just cause I want it, on the bright side, the bottom metal I’m putting on it take the same ar mags

Last pictures of the day.

I drilled and tapped the Remington action and scope base for the larger 8-40 screws, and when they are installed, the base will be bedded to the action and the screws will be torqued to 80 inch pounds. I see a lot of guys who have not seen 8-40 screws before, so I have a picture of them beside the smaller and more standard 6-48 screws.

I checked my vise to be sure it was square, and over the 6 inches of travel side to side, it was within .0005 and looking good.

Not bragging on my work, because this is how I set everything up, but the accuracy of this level is .0005 over 10" and as you can in the picture, it is dead level!

The second screw from the front of the action was .004 off center from the other 3 screws. After I finished my work on the base and action, all 4 screw holes are now in perfect alignment.

Good stuff man. I guess thats a M16 style ext? I had m old 722 cut for the Sako style a few years back before I realized they could be cut for the M16. He did a poor job of it so now I really wish I would have known.

Heck yeah! 6.5grendel is where it’s at. The performance characteristics absolutely smoke 5.56. I just picked up the first AR pistol in 6.5grendel,a 12” PSA. I won’t be surprised if in 10-20 years that a 6.5 or 6.8 doesn’t displace the venerable 5.56!
Just bought some Hornady Black 123 gr ELDx and a new progressive press yesterday. Figured to start loading for it soon and then looking at the Ruger American because they use the same AR mags.
For anyone who wants to shoot a great round with long range performance, small powder usage and light recoil, look at 6.5grendel. All in a short action.
