Be careful a lot of times they just gather info or even small items such as garage door opener. But they look to see if you have a work or class schedule in the car or any indicator of when you are gone from home. Had a crew hit 30 houses in our neighborhood and they always started with the cars. Next they would break in during the afternoon. Had a homeowner come home and get shot at from inside his house. Sometimes these are crimes of opportunity but other times they are just a scouting party.

In high school, lots of my friends drove 1988-1994 GM trucks. Everyone of them were keyed essentially the same and would open each other up with the door lock key. Heck, the 1988s didn't have to have a key in the ignition to start it if you didn't lock the ignition back just right. Many times I had a buddy find me 1st period, to borrow my keys, to unlock his truck which he had locked his keys inside.

Title says it all. They rummaged through everything pretty good, but it looks like only my coin stash was stolen.

I have no idea how it happened though. If they tried to break in manually or break the windows the alarm would have been tripped. Perhaps theres a new device going around that can unlock electronic car doors.

That really sucks. My wife left our garage door open about 2 years ago and of course,.. our cars got broken into. They didn't find everything but enough to piss me off pretty good.

What part of town did this happen?

My truck got broke into a little over a year, maggot stole several things.
The only thing ever recovered was my gun they got.
It was found in a bar ditch down in Seminole county.
I can't say enough about how professionally they handled the return.
Great guys down there.

Had my drivers window busted out back in August sitting in my drive.
They made off with a 357 snubbie, $20 Bill, cup full of change and a
Tote bag full of Bosch cordless tools. Aholes dropped the battery charger out of
The bag beside the truck so the tools probably got trashed.
Yeah, I don't leave a gun in the truck overnight anymore.
