Let the guy do as he wants. So what if he makes a few bucks?

So what? I guarantee that he has signed one, if not several, Non-Disclosure Agreements.

Just coming forward and admitting you were on the mission itself, without permission from the DoD, is enough to violate your NDA.

If you signed an NDA, it's the same as giving your word, except with real legal ramifications that extend beyond your active enlistment time. Violating that trust for "a few bucks" doesn't fit the tradition and reputation of most special operations professionals.

WTF happened to being a quiet professional?
Exactly. The White House is full of leaks, FOX news is run by fools, for fools, in support of fools, but covert operations are just that--covert, and they should stay that way. Retired Navy SEALs are not ex-Congressmen looking to get rich after they've served (or at least they shouldn't be), but then what can we expect in this mass media besotten world we now live in?

I am familiar with non-disclosure agreements. And, I am being facetious about this. Perhaps that didn't come across quite right when I posted my comment. In my considered opinion, he is dead wrong in going public; if he does. But we don't know the whole story either...maybe he's being thrown under the bus? Maybe he was "swimming in a pool not his own"? We may never really know.

Did anyone else watch this crazy crap on Fox tonight? I can't believe this guy is flapping his gums like he is. Is he for real? This is crazy.

You have to bank everything on this story told from the beginning... You must have the blind faith to believe the gov when they say "We got him."

I believe the term "Quiet Professional" applies more to the Army side of the special operations business. The Seals I've known were never all that quiet.:cool:

It seems odd that an individual would come forward from the group in an operation like that. It could have been any of the guys entering the building that did the job.
