Long story short. I have a laptop that I was told screen was out because of a bad wire. Anyways looking to get it fixed. Need a good place that's not gonna bend me over.
LCDs take a dirt nap for various reasons. Most of the time it's easiest to replace the whole LCD assembly and there's a few places online that sell refurbed displays. What's the make/model of the laptop?
It's been my experience that, unless it's under warranty, you're best served to replace a laptop with hardware problems. I've just not heard many happy customers of laptop repair jobs. Your mileage may vary.
Chris- forgot to ask: will the laptop work normally if an external monitor is plugged into it?
Yes it works fine plugged in into a external monitor. It's a compaq presario cq60. Model cq60-615dx

They have a few options for screens, some of them being fairly inexpensive. There's a Youtube video at the bottom of the page that shows the process of changing one out. Normally it's not too bad. I'm out of pocket most all next week but if you want to get an LCD I can help out with it.
