Gillman,

I just stay with ball powders on my progressive. What are you loading? BLC(2) is great in .223 and .308. AA2230 was actually developed specifically for .223/5.56 though I've not even considered trying it in .308 because I load that on my single stage anyway so trickling is not an issue for me.

Both meter fantastic.

On the progressive, I am probably only loading 9mm, 45, 38, 357, my handgun calibers. I want to start loading 204, 223, 30/30, and 308. I will more than likely load them on my Rockchucker, but may load some range rounds for them on the progressive, so that is why I was wondering about them. Right now, I am using Varget on the 223 and 308, and looking at a load for my 204 with it also.

I screwed up when I made the statement about the powder measure. Its an adapter that allows you to run other powder dies on a 550 (ie dies for use with extruded powders). Looks like its about $20 and I think you have to buy a 440 nozzle for about $15.

I have a 47th & 48th Lyman Manual and they list powders and their most common uses in it. Along with a few pics. My Speer 13 does too. They are toward the front of the manual, not sure what page. The stick powders I use are Varget, IMR 4198, H 4895, IMR 3031, XMP 5744, IMR 4759, RL 10x,& RL 7. I believe all Winchester powder is ball powder.

Go to each powder manufacturers web site. They usually have a discription of each of their powders. Get the info straight from the horses mouth. Don't rely too much on the burn rate charts, they are general at best. Some will say H4198 is slower than H322. Taint so.
