OKC police officer slams old guy unconscious

He'd already called a supervisor. Just moments before things blew up. AKA too freaking late. Popping someone with your fingertips is battery. Telling them to shut up is assault. It's major if you use a weapon or fists, or threaten death or dismemberment. And the Orient is what they used to call Asia. Including Southeast Asia. And things and people from that region are referred to as oriental. I don't do PC. Though a lot of "Oriental" rugs are from Southwest Asia. Turkey and Persia, for example. Some folks wanted de-escalaton. Someone starting a fight with words and a tap may escalate. And do anything from yell louder to empty a magazine...

@1:30 cop says "I don't think you're understanding what I'm saying"

then he gets frustrating, lets Mr. Vu get out of the car, then the wife gets out. They try to explain. Cop starts again with hand signing/language that utterly doesn't help.

@3:23 he finally calls for backup and DOESN't request a translator or let them know he's having difficulty with the language barrier, as Mr. Vu told him he doesn't understand what the cop is saying, and recognizes that he knows that they don't understand.

Cop keeps saying "you can't U turn", They're trying to tell him they were turning left to the street. The wife tries to explain @3:39, with her broken english, that they were waiting to turn, not u-turn, to go straight. They were the 3rd car in line to turn. That's probably when the lady in the other car hit them as she was probably making the u-turn. Cop won't listen, refuses to listen, doesn't understand himself, gets annoyed because he thinks he's right, turns away and Mr. Vu taps him to get his attention as he's frustrated that the cop won't listen to his explanation. Then Bam, barney "sweeps the leg", in midair, orders Mr. Vu, "get on the ground", smashing him head first.

edit: calling Asians oriental is, by definition, offensive.

Interesting. Both of my parents spent time growing up in the Asian world. I’ve never heard before that using “Oriental” to describe people as inflammatory or derogatory.

My Lady is a Filipina, so I get corrected a lot. But, she says I can say that I have "Yellow fever" or that I'm an "egg"- white on the outside, yellow in the middle, LOL
