When I see an endorsement and praise from the OEA, that's a huge red flag. They seem pretty much crazy.

There's a difference in teaching history vs using it as a tool to advance your current ideology. For example, slavery curriculum should obviously be taught. What I'm not ok with is teaching my kids they should feel guilt for it because of the pigment in their skin.

The divisiveness of the left is disgusting.
Agree 100%.

Yes. The OEA has a huge influence. Holy **** man. There is a reason teachers are in lock step with few exceptions

Any non elected drone. Especially paper pushers. Complete waste of resources.

And you know this because of your many years of experience as a parent and in education as well as knowing how all government employees work?

I'm sure the frustration of teachers has nothing to do with over crowded classrooms, horrible, disinterested parents and a huge lack of resources. They're only doing what the OEA tells them to do.

Holy **** man indeed.

Trump, is living in Libs heads rent free. Lol

Let me be clear. Going from big government to smaller government is always better then small government to bigger government.

And also, dont trust ANY politician. But vote for the one that will most likely vote for...less taxes, less regulation, smaller government and less activist judges.

Trump was far from perfect but was head and shoulders better then the Hilldog.

Stitt isnt perfect either, but he is and will be head and shoulders better than Joy.

Unless you hate guns. Do you hate guns Pablo? Do you hate Constitutional Carry Pablo?
Seconds this. TRUMP wasnt voted for due to him swapping parties. He made great promises and kept most of them. And ALL were fought by the left. I HATE voting down party lines. BUT the way the left has acted these last 12 years have guaranteed I'll NEVER vote blue. Until im dead. And then Ill bet I vote blue three or four times.....

This is the same mentality of the usual union-bashers here.

Every teacher and coach I've spoken with in the last 20 years has complained about lack of parenting being the number one problem in schools today. That, coupled with the inability to enforce basic civilized behavior makes teaching extremely challenging.

I will add that most of the female teachers I've spoken with are pretty left leaning. I doubt that has anything to do with the union, and more to do with the natural inclinations associated with owning and operating a female reproductive system.

Whoever started using this stupid "wokeness" word needs to be smacked upside the head.

Hopefully she'd consolidate school administration positions so those salaries can be used to hire teachers that districts actually need. Then maybe those newly consolidated admins can focus on developing a consistent curriculum that teaches actual history and deals with those who can't handle it.
What administrative positions would you consolidate?

I believe the universities produce liberal teachers. No one seems to know much about this. It’s a DOMINANT part of everything liberal in this country. Teachers produced today are a product of their environment! We are the same as individuals

Yup. Colleges are liberal indoctrination centers for sure. Have been for many years now.

Send a semi-intelligent 18 year old raised with a cell phone and television, taught to feel guilt and tolerance - to an institution full of career socialist teachers and you get what you see today.

I remember being taught by WWII vets, lol. Their policies and instruction was a little different than the younger teachers I had later on in my education.

I’m a educational support employee and have seen first hand how difficult it is to even discipline much less fire a teacher or support person. As a rep for my department, I have sat on disciplinary committees and plan of improvement committees. It is nearly impossible to fire someone. If everyone goes by the book, the process can take a couple years.
Our district is overall pretty conservative including administration. I have received more emails this year from the head shed trying to convince us to vote a particular way without coming right out and saying it. There is strong drive to get Hoffmeister in as well as Nelson. Stitt and Walters support vouchers which takes millions of federal money away.

One of my daughters is a sixth grade teacher in the Moore system. OEA membership in her school is the exception. Very few members, and the number is lower than previous years. At least for now, it appears that OEA and NEA may be losing some of their impact, and that may be part of the very aggressive campaigning we are seeing.

It may be that, at least some, of the public have had enough of the CRT, lgbtxyz, drag queen crap.

I haven't spent a lot of time looking into the voucher thing, but basically doesn't it allow students/parents to use the school of their choice, including public schools?
If that's the case then what are public schools afraid of? They just need to get better so people will choose to go there.
That's the first I've heard of losing fed money.
