Met him many times myself. He had one hell of a record in the War. Some of the stories not in the book would chill your bones. RIP.
Yes they would. Him and my grandpa were the only guys I have ever heard the off the record stories from personally. If they had the media we do today back then, I think those news anchors would all have a stroke.
Not many of the greatest generation still around. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.
