N frame smith in 357. best all around gun by far. you could load light enough for small game or heavy enough for deer or even elk size game. i'm thinkin the SHTF gun. if the end came today thats what id grab.

1. Practice is cheap
2. Capacity is high
3. Ammo is (and due to it being a NATO round) and always will be available.

Completely agree, but why would you want a 9mm as your sidearm while hunting, or if you had to use it to actually hunt with?

I might be putting more thought into this 'all purpose' title than necessary...

If I could find (& afford) a nickeled 6" Python.....otherwise my 17yr old GP100SS 4" fixed.....'course, a 6" SS GP would also do nicely. No hull spitters for me, thanx.
