That's the way it's been for years... I see people open carrying in what appear to be street clothes all the damn time. I always assume they're LEO of some kind and go on. No one else in WalMart of Taco Hell gives them a second look.

Any of you computer guys know how to set-up a count-down clock banner on OSA that ticks off the time until 'Open Carry' starts.... kind of like some stores do for counting down the days / hours / seconds until Christmas or the New Year? Nothing like dragging out the anticipation.

Few weeks back, I walked into a QT and saw a man carrying a Sig or XD in a sherpa holster. He was wearing a pair of low drag tacticool black 511 pants and a polo and ball cap, all black. Well I jumped to conclusions, (although I rarely do...
) walked up to him and casually warned him that open carry did not go into effect until November and I didn't want him to get in trouble.He laughed and said "No I'm Loomis, I just didn't have a clean [Loomis] shirt to wear today, this was supposed to be my day off, but I got called back in. Funny thing, you are the first person all day to notice."
I excused my self for bothering him, but he was OK with it. I could then see he was overwatching another uniformed guard putting money in the ATM.
Serously, most people won't notice!
I spend lots of time in Wyoming and Montana. On a few occasions I carry, especially when I am in the boonies. In all my years in these two states I have never noticed anyone open carrying. I just don't think much will change with the new Oklahoma open carry law. My guess is that few people will actually practice open carry, especially after the new wears off, like on November 3rd

To me the real value of this change in the law is that we won't have to worry about an accidental show of our weapon. My view is that responsible gun owners [which is most of us who carry/conceal] are not out to impress others or do anything to make others uncomfortable with our guns. The last thing we gun advocates need is a bunch of cowboys showing off. The reality is that most people out there simply don't understand or get the idea that those of us who are carry/conceal are simply ever day good law-abiding citizens. The every day citizen simply doesn't know/understand that us legal carry/conceal folks aren't felons or people they should be afraid of.

I believe this to be correct and I too have not seen anyone open carrying in the states that allow it,the ones I've been to anyway.

I hear this said often here.I would like to hear of any case where unintentional exposure, by itself, caused any grief.
I think if it has happened anywhere, it's a very isolated event.
