@retrieverman Congratulations to your daughter. She is beginning a brand new chapter in her young life. Hope all the best for her. In regards to your earlier post about Mexican food, it’s hard to find good Mexican food in Oklahoma, but it’s also hard to find a good Indian taco in Mexico.

It was good in the '80s when I moved here however, we ate there a couple of years ago and it was swill.
We made an evening run to Yukon today for a meeting with the Unlimited Outdoor Adventures group. Met up at Catfish Cove at 40/Mustang Rd; food was good, pretty good selection on the buffet. Had a good discussion of our current situation and upcoming plans...two of which look to be 1) a combo lifetime hunting/fishing license raffle and 2) trying to purchase an enclosed trailer for storing our hunting/fishing gear for the kids in. If anyone here is or knows a trailer dealer, esp in OKC area, that might be able and willing to help us out on a trailer, let me know! And if anyone has an interest in some raffle tickets, hit me up and I'll keep you informed on when it starts.

Our lighthouse tour excursion yesterday went okay, but because it was overcast ALL DAY LONG and rained for some of the tour, none of the pictures I took could be considered "photographically" interesting. It would have been much better to have some sunshine.
At any rate, it was an interesting tour with getting to see different lighthouses, and, there was a discussion of an American Revolution event that preceded the Lexington/Concord one. It appears that the HMS Gaspee was pursuing a smaller ship/boat that was "running contraband" that the British wanted to tax. The smaller vessel lured the Gaspee onto a sand bar, and then later those involved went back and burned the ship down to the waterline. That was in June of 1772, and Lexington/Concord was a few years later. So, the Rhode Islanders got in the first blow.
If one has ever looked at images of lighthouses, one knows that they largely come in different shapes and sizes. The ones we saw in Oregon were much taller than the RI lighthouses, primarily because those are guiding ships out at sea and the Narragansett Bay lighthouses are more for guiding ships coming into and traversing the bay itself. Thus, the RI lights we saw were much smaller.
Some are referred to as "spark plug" or "coffee pot" towers, simply because of their looks and that there are no residences onsite.
Then there are the more traditional appearing lighthouses.
Some of which have been unused for years, with this one even having the light removed.
This one at a place called Rose Island was where we stopped for lunch.
This one is supposedly one of only 4 left in the nation that have the "birdcage" look for the light structure.
There were other interesting sights along the way to include birds and peoples homes along the shore of the bay. Some of those are undoubtedly very expensive, but even if given to me, I wouldn't want to live here.
