Evening guys ... Grumpy's home from work. Made sure he got his dinner and a brownie (made brownies for him to take to work tomorrow to suck up with when everyone there is a guy it's easy to know how to keep them happy ) to taste test. Everything pasted muster so I'm good.

Football game is over so I'm gonna go crawl in bed so I can do it all over again tomorrow. Enjoy what's left of the night fellas!

You should have had her drive to Ponca around noon, and by 12:20 she would have walked out with a new license. In the thirty years I've used the Osage County tag agent about 2 miles from our home, I've never had to wait behind more than one person.

One her roommates is from Ponca, and Okie4570 suggested that she go there. I tried to get her to come to Enid, but I know their line starts early too. It all worked out, and I’m super proud of her for taking the bull by the horns and handling this all on her own.

Unfortunately, we’re heading home today. I’ve enjoyed a break in the 100+ degree temps. As of yesterday, it had been over a hundred for 12 days straight in east TX, and according to the forecast, there’s no end in sight.
I’ve got a couple jobs to do, but I’m planning to come back up with a tractor in a couple or three weeks to get started on mowing and food plots. I’m so ready for fall and deer season.

@retrieverman sounds like you guys have her all fixed up. And I'm with you, I'm over the heat and ready for fall. I dunno what I did yesterday/last night but I woke up this morning with the worst upper back, and neck pain and headache than I have had in quite a while. Took everything I could, got ALL my ice packs and laid back down but I'm still hurting pretty bad. I'm gonna go put my sunglasses on, go out and make sure everyone has fresh water and feed and then go crawl back in bed and feel sorrry for myself because it's WAY too soon to take anything else. Man I hate it when this happens. I have no idea why Grumpy puts up with me.

The same reason my wife puts up with me. She says there’s not enough time left to try and train another one, and it probably wouldn’t work out as easily.

While at Lawton rodeo tonight, it was military night, so a ton of guys and gals in uniform from Ft Sill. I bet most of them had fun getting away from training for a night (a lot of Basic/AIT trainees)...

But at least one young man will have a BAD day tomorrow, as a civilian lady walked up to a group of Drill Sergeants that were there as escorts and handed them someone's military ID card. The first 2 didn't recognize the recruit, then a 3rd DS walked up and was like "yep, he's one of mine". And this DS looked like the type that REALLY enjoys his job...poor kid

On our way to Vegas to celebrate my wife’s 70th birthday. Ever since we’ve been married (30+ years) when ever I asked where to go for dinner she always replied “Top of the Tower “ (fictional soap opera restaurant). Well I’m surprising her with dinner at the restaurant at the top of the Eiffel Tower at the Paris Hotel in LV.

Wife and I have finished working out of Wichita Falls and finished up the work around Seymour, TX and moved on to spend a few days in Vernon, TX working that area. As we were traveling down one road, we saw a bunch of critters crossing the roadway ahead of us. I didn't count them, but I'd guess that there was at least 30 of them. As we got slightly closer and the last two critters slowed down on crossing the road, I could tell that they were obviously pigs. That is the first time I've ever seen such a "migration" across the road.

Then, getting into Vernon, we found our hotel to be loaded down with classic cars of all brands. Obviously this weekend is a car show weekend.

As of right now, we have completed all the roads in 4 of the 18 counties that we are scheduled to work. Only real problem with it all is that the temps are getting up into the 100's every day, and it doesn't help that there are 4 servers in the back of the van. The A/C just can't keep up with all that heat.

Wife and I went to the Estes Park wine festival today. Had a fun time and met some new friends so we went for dinner at a 5 story outdoor rooftop Mexican restaurant that came highly recommended.

Are yall summering there, or just an extended stay? My dream is to leave OK on Memorial day and come back around Halloween every year if I make it to retirement!
