Wife and I have finished working out of Wichita Falls and finished up the work around Seymour, TX and moved on to spend a few days in Vernon, TX working that area. As we were traveling down one road, we saw a bunch of critters crossing the roadway ahead of us. I didn't count them, but I'd guess that there was at least 30 of them. As we got slightly closer and the last two critters slowed down on crossing the road, I could tell that they were obviously pigs. That is the first time I've ever seen such a "migration" across the road.

Then, getting into Vernon, we found our hotel to be loaded down with classic cars of all brands. Obviously this weekend is a car show weekend.

As of right now, we have completed all the roads in 4 of the 18 counties that we are scheduled to work. Only real problem with it all is that the temps are getting up into the 100's every day, and it doesn't help that there are 4 servers in the back of the van. The A/C just can't keep up with all that heat.
If you are heading east and pass through Muenster, TX, make sure to stop by Fischer’s Meat Market.

Here, but occasionally There.

Living as we do while working on the road, we are limited on how our meals are done, and with most of the hotels, cooking inside is unlikely unless it is with a microwave. That said, Muenster, TX is on Highway 82 and is in our work area.

I understand about RV living, but I recommend that you guys check it out. It’s a German market that has sausages, cheeses, and various other cold cuts that don’t require any cooking. There’s also a gas station/convenience store in town that has some pretty good German baked goods. I don’t remember the name of it, but it’s east of Fischer’s on the main road/highway through town.

Good morning,
Well I have had an interesting and painful few days. It started Sunday with my neighbor having 35 of her family up to the lake to spread the ashes of her deceased husband. She needed four boats to get all of her family and I volunteered mine. She got kind of put out with me because I would not let the ashes be on my boat. It’s illegal to pour human ashes (at least that is what I have always been told) in the lake so I didn’t want to be responsible. And some of them got mad because I wouldn’t tie my boat up to the others during the ceromony. I didn’t do this for two reasons: 1. I didn’t want my boat scratched up and 2, it was windy and didn’t want to have ashes all over me or my boat. LOL!!!

Now the painful part. I was reaching for my ladder behind the shop Sunday afternoon and not knowing, there was a wasp nest about 12 inches under where the ladder was. They tore me up. I got stung a number of times under my left arm and on my left shoulder. My arm is three times the normal size and is on fire. It’s a good thing I’m not allergic to wasp stings. I will be back to normal in a few days.

Have a great day!
