I feel like we run in the same "social" circle. My only "demand" is that I get an afternoon appointment.

This one is a bit historical. It was the site of the last "major" battle between the Army and the Northern Cheyenne Indians in the state of Kansas. It was kind of a bad outcome for both sides in that the CO of the Army was mortally wounded and the Indians lost a lot of their horses because they had them in another nearby canyon that the Army found.

At the end of the canyon in this picture was a cave that supposedly went back about 200 feet, so the Indians put their women, children and elderly in that cave. The Indians had dug out some rifle pits on the hillside around the canyon. The cave has mostly collapsed with very little of it left where the last of the rocks are seen in the picture.

The Wikipedia article differs from what I've read elsewhere, stating that the women, children and elderly were with the horses in nearby ravines. If their account was true, I would have thought that the people would have been captured as well as the horses.

Health insurance has made doctors filthy stinking nasty rich, and I can assure you that without it a person can live with ALOT of ailments. I went to a doctor at the end of September for the first time in 20 years, found out what I wanted to know, and more than likely won’t go back.
My wife has insurance and a damn carrousel of doctor visits. I can’t convince her that just because they want to see you again next month (to collect more insurance money) doesn’t mean you have to go.

Gotta say I appreciate medical insurance and doctors. My wife had to have emergency surgery removing 14cm of her large and small intestines from a bowel obstruction. Two hours later and I’d have likely been planning her funeral. She’s also just had cervical spine surgery and a lumbar surgery with another coming within the next year. I’d say we’ve definitely gotten our money out of insurance and doctors.

I’m on a Christian co-op “insurance”. As far as I know, it’s only for catastrophic stuff, so a surgery should be covered. I’ve never used it or even tried.

I looked into that once but they won't accept you if you have pre-existing conditions.
