Like RM, I haven’t seen a doctor in about 15 years. I only went the last time because I was bitten by a brown recluse on my thumb. After about a month, I thought that I was going to loose my thumb so I went to an urgent care place. They cleaned it out, and I also got a shot where the sun don’t shine. For about the last year, I’ve been dealing with a leg issue. I’m pretty sure that I’ve got a torn hamstring, but I think it’s finally getting a little better. I have insurance for major medical only, and it’s still not cheap. I have never made a claim with it.

Man alive!! 😮 You WERE VERY LUCKY with that thumb. Those damned spiders ain't nothing to fool around with. I had a bite on my leg WAY back in the day that went from 2 tiny little spots (the bite) surrounded by a little pinkish area -- altogether about the size of a pinhead to a golfball-sized abscess that was so hot a cool washcloth felt like an ice cube and red lines running down my thigh. I was REALLY freaked out and I'm not easily spooked.

Even the doctor was kinda poo-pawing me a little bit until he saw it. Then he apologized and said "Yeah ... We probably need to not let that go any longer." I was like "Ya think?!?!" I would have lanced it at home except for 2 things -- I needed some help and Grumpy was like "OH HELLLLLLLL NO!" lol and those red lines had me more than a little worried. I got a horse syringe full of antibiotics, an antibiotic cream, some kind of antibiotic soap to wash it with a couple times a day and 2 weeks of antibiotic pills that were cow-sized. And I took every bit of it and used every bit of the soap and cream. Lol I still have my leg but it's 2 inches shorter than the other one. 🤓

Yeah, my bite was very similar. The top of my hand looked like an egg, and my thumb had a pretty good sized hole from the flesh rotting away. I kept thinking that it would eventually get better, but I started having a slight fever that wouldn’t go away. That’s when I went to the urgent care. My hand was extremely tender, but that shot in my @$$ wasn’t any fun. I’m not sure what hurt worse for the next day or so.

Taken on the grounds of the George Washington Carver National Monument site. LOTS of historical stuff on display there regarding his life and life in that time period. This photo shows a small house back behind the trees to the left of the bridge. If I remember right, the house is one in which he lived at some point.

Good evening gang,
Had a long day today. My mom was hospitalized late last night with pneumonia. She is doing much better but will be in the hospital until Friday. So she will miss Thanksgiving with family this year. Wife and I are flying down to New Orleans early in the morning to be with our kids and grandson for Thanksgiving. We are excited to see them and to spend some time with them. Flying back on Saturday.
Hope everyone had a great day!

The wife and I had our 15th anniversary today. Never thought I'd be married that long, especially to the same woman! Honestly never thought one would keep me around that long, but this marriage has now lasted 7x longer than my first 🤣
Happy Anniversary Clint!

Something unusual in the way of rail cars. Back in 2014, we went to the Oklahoma Railway Museum in Oklahoma City and stumbled across a car marked with U.S. Army letters and emblem. I don't remember any plaque or informational stuff that stated how the car was used. The one end has windows on all three sides.

Maybe I need to get back out there to see what may be new and maybe try to find out how they did use this car?
