Colt doesn't produce a ton of handguns used and preferred by LEO. Not sure they could fill all the needs. Rifles? Sure. But most LEO sales are handguns.

I think Glock, Smith, and others could successfully do this if they follow the Larue and OA model and restrict sales based on states. The majority of states do not have these restrictions and would still be able to purchase from the manufacturers. And, as was pointed out earlier, gun sales are crazy right now and every manufacturer is behind. 65+ million guns sold during the Obama administration so far.

I love this attitude taken by Olympic and Larue. Putting principles aside (which I fully support in this case), I ask, how big of an impact will this have? Specifically, how many law enforcement agencies are using Larue and Olympic Arms equipment? If it's a majority, then this is a huge blow in our favor, but if their equipment represents a measly 2% of equipment utilized by LEOs across the US, then there will be a collective "pfft, so what, none of us are using your crap to begin with!". I then ask, are there any firearm manufacturers who actually support the current gun control proposal? I know it's a shot in your own foot, but nothing surprises me anymore.

Larue is significant in that they represent the high end. Olympic is significant in that they represent a good value in the AR world. I applaud both.

One monkey wrench in this effort is the fact that Colt would probably enjoy supplying LEO and military only and would gladly fill any void left by other manufacturers.

Not to mention they are almost the exact same price now as Sig, Bushmaster etc..

Just as an aside, the FOP solicitors are not actually the FOP members. They are a solicitation firm with contracts with the FOP. I know because I have asked them when they call. The FOP only gets a few pennies of every dollar collected. I do not donate to any organization set up to make money for themselves, not for the agency they supposedly represent.
